In February 2018, I began working with Polaris as an Admin Apprentice, and studied the Level 3 Business Administrator course at Heart of Worcestershire College. The variety of experiences I gained during my apprenticeship paved the way for my evolution within the company. Finance became my focal point, and despite this being a route I never thought I would take, I found myself taking on various roles that expanded my expertise.
The turning point in my career came in January 2023, when I assumed the role of Manager for the Purchase Ledger team. This was a testament to the confidence my superiors had in my abilities. Leading a team of 3, I found myself responsible for the crucial task of processing invoices and ensuring timely payments to our external suppliers.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my current position is being able to mentor and guide others in their professional journey. I proudly manage a team that includes an apprentice currently studying the Business Administrator course. Encouraging growth and development within the team is very important to me, ensuring that each member has the chance to thrive and contribute their best.
The skills I acquired during my apprenticeship have not only shaped me as a professional but have also allowed me to contribute meaningfully to the success of the organisation.
